History

Doctor Poison was a World War II Wonder Woman's enemy, and a member of the Japanese Imperial family, known as Princess Maru. She concealed her gender for a while, but was ultimately revealed female, and mostly used toxicity as a weapon.

She died during the period Wonder Woman was back on Themyscira, but not before she had a kid, nicknamed Doctor Poison II, her name (or face) was never revealed.

She was pretty dangerous (notably building Genocide, a walking killing machine). Doctor Poison II gave birth to Belladonna, then poisoned her own body in order to exude toxic sweat or saliva and nobody can touch her any more.

Belladonna can't do so, but her mother forced her to ingest small quantities of poison so she acquired mithridatism, or toxicity immunity.

Trivia

-Doctor Poison II was hitting on women and never revealed her face or real name, thus it's not even sure if "she" was a man, or a lesbian woman. The second solution was chosen here.

-She had Belladonna through artificial insemination.

-Her name is inspired by a toxic plant.

-Female members of the imperial Japanese family (which Belladonna still belongs, despite dethroned for long) do not have a surname and she just go by "Princess Belladonna". But she uses the first name of her grandmother as a surname when going incognito.{{#if: |
