Monroe Graves was your everyday guy who worked as a journalist for a very successful media company mainly writing articles related to pop culture. With the emergence of metahumans and supernatural occurrences, his job is getting crazier and crazier every day. One day on his way to work, there is a traffic road block caused by some low level supervillains trying to make a name for themselves. Little did they know their reckless use of their powers set off an unknown substance which caused a huge cloud of gas to emerge.
Monroe didnt realize it yet but that unknown substance would grant him metahuman abilities of manipulating kinetic energy!
First Year
With his newfound powers, Monroe felt that not only could he help people in need, but spice up his life and document his adventures for his story as a journalist. "Wonder how Superman gets used to the super speed flight without looking like a clumsy idiot", Monroe said to himself while enjoying the air while flying. As he flying, Velocity suddenly gets snatched up by a energy like net and crashes down into a forest.
As Velocity tries to free himself, a man walks up to him. The mysterious man looked like a ninja straight out of an action flick. "This dude has a real odd aura about him", Velocity thought to himself as he breaks the net with his energetic aura. The two have a stand off.
"Nothing personal but i'm tasked to eliminate any and all superhuman boom victims as we cant allow the world to be overpopulated with supers", the man said calmly.
Velocity rightfully confused asks the man the questions that need answering. "First of all, who are you. Second of all,what are you going on about", Velocity asked slightly agitated.
"You are on of the many "victims" who gained superhuman abilities due to the big superhuman boom. Too many people have gained powers and may potentially e a threat to the world", the man said with a robotic like tone in his voice. "I am the Slydragon, the super assassin and i will not stop until i kill you!", the man known as Slydragon said with confidence as he lunges as he lunges at Velocity with his katana ready to strike!
Powers and Abilities
Powers
- Energy Absorption: Velocity is able to absorb energy various ways such as absording it from other metahumans or like Superman, absorb sunlight.
- Mystical Martial Art: Velocity once spent a year training in codified combat with a mysterious alien tribe of nomads. The training makes Velocity's powers
even more effective.
Abilities
- Journalism: As a journalist, Monroe takes great pride in his hard work. When not fighting crime, Monroe puts a lot of time into his profession.
Strength level
Superhuman Strength: Not only does he have his already impressive super strength, Velocity can also absorb the physical energy anyone around him is using.
Weaknesses
- Vulnerability to Overload: Velocity can not absorb too much physical energy to his body and if this were to happen, he will go temporarily insane for at least 30 minutes and after the 30 minutes have expired, Velocity will fall into a deep sleep for 24 hours due to extreme exhaustion.
