Arthur Slate

Born in the year 1792, Arthur was born into a noble family in Serbia by the name of Slate. Their child exhibited weakness when growing up and in an attempt to heal him they called upon a man (who unbeknownst to them was really a colonist from a world where Genetic Manipulation was a day to day basis.) The man told them to give them their son, and to come back in 10 years.

Arthur was then placed in a genetic amniotic artificial womb where the man gave him alternate memories while he received treatment, These memories included time growing not as his fathers child but has one who came from this man's world. While he was being altered the the man altered his DNA adding the still existing kryptonian DNA, he also added some changes to it allowing the body to slowly build energy that would allow him to do what Superman would do in the future but, it would take longer and to prevent his creation from getting killed till that time he also added the very same gene that Doomsday contained, the one in which he would regenerate from death, and become immune to what killed him last. He would be affected by kryptonite but it wouldn't affect him the same way as it does Superman, his recovery gene would still exist but it would put on hold his superhuman abilities. The longer they were put on hold the more powerful he would be when he let be unleashed. while in his dream reality though he learned a lot about higher technologies and how to make them. when the ten years were up he returned home to his family.

Returning home

When he returned home his father would take him out on horseback rides but, this did not seem to please the Arthur as much as being able to construct things. His parents feeling betrayed by the man who had helped them began a witch hunt and had the man killed and his cabin burned. Arthur himself was locked away in the house. There he stayed refusing to take part in the lifestyle his father had made for him.

70 Years later

His father had already died and his mother lived as a lady in Serbia, as she grew old she missed her son and called him to live as he wishes to live. In her senility she also made it known that when she died all the families wealth would go to him. When she died he sold the property and the land and took the money (nearly 12 million dollars) and put it into a swiss bank account. By 1912 the money had accumulated to over 3 billion. He however lived simply avoiding his money for years. He served in world war 1 and then later in world war 2, then in every war following that until his retirement after vietnam. Then he moved to gotham and stayed silently for many years hiring himself out a assassin. He made quite a name for himself and was said to have been repeatedly killed by the Joker. Finally in 2033 he became in an active but non romantic relationship with the industrial saboteur Inque.

Powers

Kryptonian Physiology: Under the effects of a "yellow" sun, Slate possesses the same potential powers as an average Kryptonian. These include:
- Solar Energy Absorption: Under optimal conditions, this is the main source of Slate's super powers as they are contingent upon exposure to solar radiation from a yellow sun star system. His biological make up includes a number of organs which lack analogues in humans and whose functions are unknown. It is believed that between one or more of these and his bio-cellular matrix, "yellow" solar energy is stored for later use. This allows for the use of these powers to fade when yellow solar radiation is not available instead of immediate failure.
- Heat Vision: Slate can, as a conscious act, fire beams of intense heat at a target by looking at it. He can vary the heat and area affected.
- Super-Hearing: Slate' hearing is sensitive enough to hear any sound at any volume or pitch. With skill and concentration, he can block out ambient sounds to focus on a specific source or frequency.
- Enhanced Vision Slate's vision processes the entire electromagnetic spectrum as well as allowing vast control over selective perception and focus.
  This umbrella ability includes the following:
  - Electromagnetic Spectrum Vision: Slate can see well into most of the electromagnetic spectrum. He can see and identify radio and television signals as well as all other broadcast or transmitted frequencies. Using this ability, he can avoid detection by radar or satellite monitoring methods. This also allows him to see the aura generated by living thing.
  - Telescopic Vision: This is the ability to see something at a great distance, without violating the laws of physics. Though limited, the exact extent of the ability is undetermined. In function, it is similar to the zoom lens on a camera.
  - X-Ray Vision: This is the ability to see through any volume of matter except lead. Slate's can see things behind a solid, opaque object as if it were not there. He can focus this ability to "peel back" layers of an object, allowing hidden image or inner workings to be observed. The exact type of energy perceived - such as x-rays, cosmic rays, or some other energy invisible to normal humans - is unclear. this ability perceives an ambient energy source though, it does not involve the eye projecting a concentrated, possibly toxic, beam to be reflected back from objects.
  - Microscopic Vision: This is the ability to see extremely small objects and images down to the atomic level.
  - Infrared Vision: Slate's can see with better acuity in darkness, and to a degree in total darkness.
- Flight: Slate is able to manipulate graviton particles to defy the forces of gravity and achieve flight. This ranges from hovering to moving in any posture, in any direction.
- Invulnerability: Due to the interaction of his dense molecular structure and supercharged electromagnetic field, Slate is nigh-invulnerable to extreme energy forces. In addition, his extends this protection against toxins and diseases.
- Superhuman Stamina: Slate is able to maintain continuous strenuous physical action for an indefinite period of time. This based on his body converting yellow solar radiation directly to energy, but is limited by physiological and psychological needs to eat, drink, and sleep.
- Superhuman Strength: Slate's strength is augmented by yellow solar radiation interacting with the greater than human density, resilience and biological efficiency of his musculature. His electromagnetic field allows him to lift objects without them crumbling under their own weight.
- Superhuman Speed: Slate is able to move at incredible speed by sheer force of will. This extends to his perceptions and allows for feats such as catching bullets in mid flight as well as covering vast distances in little or no time.
  This also confers:
  - Superhuman Agility
  - Superhuman Reflexes
- Super-Breath: Slate is able to create hurricane force winds by exhaling air from his lungs. He can chill the air as it leaves his lungs to freeze targets. He can also reverse the process to pull large volumes of air or vapor into his lungs.

Accelerated Healing: He also has a highly accelerated healing factor that allows him to heal and regenerate from most damage almost instantly.
Power Replication': Slate can replicate and store the special abilities of any super-beings in his immediate proximity using "Absorption Cells".

Resurrection: Slate has the ability to recover from death once his body has adapted to a form of attack.
Reactive Adaptation: Slate develops a defense to any attack that harms him; he cannot be hurt the same way twice. That which kills him only makes him stronger.
Immunity to previous attacks : Slate becomes impenetrable once attacked the same way twice.
