Bruce Jr was born after Bruce and Selina had a romantic night together. Selina was more flirtatious than usual to the point of begging Bruce.
After discovering his father having a second son who aids him in both business management and crime-fighting, Bruce Jr felt neglected by his father and would go to his mother for advice.

Soon, Bruce Jr would join the GCPD however, he only did what he felt was considered justice and would tell his partners that the Batman should be jailed. This goes to show Bruce Jr's resentment towards his father.
Tenure as Batman
When Bruce Wayne suffered a concussion after a confrontation with Deathsaw (Night of the Bat), Bruce would ask his first son, Bruce Wayne Jr to briefly take up the mantle. Initially at denial, Bruce Jr reluctantly took up the mantle. Bruce Jr was a far different Batman than his father. After defeating a crook, Bruce Jr would take them directly to the police. Bruce Jr also willingly worked alongside the police. Bruce Jr would still retain his role as an officer and continue working under the alias, Agent Batman.
