K'ahld-uramn was born to Garth and Alanna Curry in At'lantis during the war of At'lantis between the dictator Black Manta and Orin, his father Garth being the son of Orin was in control of the At'lantean Army troops but that all changed when Garth was assassinated by Black Manta. Kal would sign up for the Army and fight alongside the other troops but would eventually gain the position of King from his grandfather and the attention of the human time traveler known as The Flash and would recruit him into the ranks of the team known as The League.
